Today's hero
Bourbon Heritage Month,
and we're selling you
Indian whisky.
Paul John distils single malt on the Goan coast, where the barley matures three times faster than it does in Scotland. It is Sazerac, so every dollar earns tickets exactly the same way, and one ticket runs in all three draws. Buy the whisky you actually want. The bourbon still comes to you.

Six barrels.
One came home.
Earlier this year we tasted through six individual barrels of Weller Special Reserve and picked one to send to Australia. Barrel #414 had all the caramel and soft wheated sweetness you expect, and a creamy white chocolate note running straight through the middle of it. Someone said Milkybar, and that was the end of the discussion.

The father of
Bottled in Bond.
In 1897 Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor Jr got a law through Congress so you would know what was actually in the bottle. One distillery, one distilling season, four years minimum in a federally supervised warehouse, exactly 100 proof. His signature is still across the front of every one.
