In 1773 the McAfee Brothers surveyed the land at the great buffalo crossing that would become Buffalo Trace Distillery. The marks they cut are known as benchmarks, and this bourbon carries their name. Old No. 8 is the original expression of the family and the distillery's everyday standard.
