Planteray Extreme Series VI: Six Single Cask Rums — But Will Australia See Any?

Planteray Extreme Series VI: Six Single Cask Rums — But Will Australia See Any?

Aug 01, 2026

Planteray Rum has unveiled its sixth Extreme Series release, a collection of six single cask rums bottled at natural strength from distilleries across Haiti, Barbados, Fiji, Jamaica, Belize and Saint Lucia. Bottle counts range from 462 to 960 globally. That alone should tell you what to expect for Australian allocation.

What's in the collection

The standout on paper is the Jamaica MMW 1998 — a Monymusk Wedderburn distilled at Clarendon, bottled at 52% ABV from just 462 bottles worldwide. High-ester Jamaican rum with that kind of age doesn't come around often. The Fiji Islands 2007 (57.8%, pot still, 888 bottles) and Barbados D.A.S.H. (59%, 960 bottles) round out the more accessible end. Prices in Europe sit between €89 and €249.

Australian outlook

Planteray is well represented in Australia through its distribution partner, Vanguard Luxury Brands, with the core range already enjoying a strong local presence. Whether any of these six single casks make their way here remains to be seen, but the possibility of seeing rums of this calibre land in Australia is an exciting one.

For Australian rum collectors following cask-strength single barrels, these are releases worth keeping firmly on the radar — and hopefully a sign of more exceptional Planteray casks reaching our shores.
