The third release of 2024 and the highest proof of the year's run. Barrel proof, uncut and unfiltered from Buffalo Trace's low rye mash bill, bottled straight from the barrel with nothing taken out and nothing put back.
The nose opens on dark cherry, brown sugar and toasted oak with a wave of vanilla underneath. The palate is dense and oily, dark chocolate, caramel and baking spice riding a proof that never quite tips into harsh. The finish is long and warming, cinnamon, clove and charred oak trailing off slowly with a drying tannic grip.
