The second release of 2024 and the one that put Stagg firmly back on form. Barrel proof, uncut and unfiltered from Buffalo Trace's low rye mash bill, with the depth of somewhere between seven and nine years in charred white oak.
The nose is thick with dark cherry syrup, molasses cookie, chocolate and brown sugar, all pushed along by bold rye spice. The palate is full-bodied and powerful, an intense wave of sweet chocolate, caramel and dark fruit backed by robust spice. The finish runs long and warm, lingering with dark cherries, cloves, cocoa bitterness and smoky oak.
