Vibrant Oak is the 2024 release in The Macallan's Harmony Collection, created with Cirque du Soleil. It ties to SPIRIT, the nature-inspired experience that premiered at The Macallan Estate in Speyside during the distillery's 200th anniversary year.
The casks
Matured in first-fill sherry-seasoned American oak and refill sherry-seasoned oak, it leans into the bright vanilla and sweet oak character American oak brings, rather than the dried fruit of European oak.
The pack
The gold outer pack shows Ayla, a character from SPIRIT, intertwined with American oak branches, with peacock feathers highlighting the whisky's natural colour. Repurposed oak chippings were used in the presentation box and bottle labels.
