The Joseph Magnus name dates to 1892, when Joseph A. Magnus ran a respected whiskey house before Prohibition shut it down. The brand was revived in 2015 and has built its reputation on one thing: blending and secondary cask finishing.

The flagship bourbon blends whiskeys aged 8 to 12 years, then finishes them in three different casks - Oloroso Sherry, Pedro Ximenez Sherry and Cognac.

What it delivers

This is what cask finishing is supposed to do.

Dried fruit, raisin and dark caramel from the sherry, chocolate and stone fruit from the cognac, all sitting on a rich bourbon base. Lush and layered, with a long, dessert-like finish.
