George T. Stagg Bourbon (2025 Release)

Volume: 750ml
ABV: 71.4% (142.8 Proof)
Origin: Kentucky, USA
Style: Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

When people talk about hazmat bourbon, this is the bottle they’re talking about.

The 2025 release of George T. Stagg from Buffalo Trace Distillery lands at a colossal 142.8 proof — the first time the label has climbed back into true hazmat territory in years — and somehow still manages to carry balance underneath all that power.

Distilled in Spring 2010 and matured for more than 15 years, this release spent its life across Warehouses K, L, P, N, U and I before bottling uncut and unfiltered in Fall 2025. More than 63% of the original whiskey was lost to evaporation over that time, leaving behind an intensely concentrated bourbon packed with deep oak, dark tobacco and rich cherry character.

This is classic Stagg territory.

Huge waves of vanilla and charred oak crash into bold tobacco spice, dark fruits and earthy depth, all backed by the kind of weight and oily texture only barrel proof bourbon can deliver. Despite the proof, there’s still remarkable structure here — not just heat for the sake of heat.

For many bourbon drinkers, George T. Stagg remains the benchmark for modern barrel proof bourbon. Loud, unapologetic and impossible to ignore.

Extremely limited worldwide allocation.
