Dumangin Batch 025 Blue Corn Balcones Texas Whisky 700ml 46.7%
Dumangin Batch 025 Blue Corn is a Texas whisky delivering sweet corn, spice and oak with a unique, wine-cask-driven finish.
Volume: 700ml
ABV: 46.7%
Origin: Texas, USA (finished in Champagne, France)
Style: Corn Whisky | Blue Corn Mash | Ratafia Cask Finish
This is not your standard American whiskey.
Batch 025 starts with Balcones โ one of the most experimental distilleries in the US โ using a mash of locally grown blue corn, creating a richer, fuller-bodied spirit compared to traditional yellow corn.
Aged in bourbon barrels under intense Texas conditions, the whisky develops quickly โ often showing maturity well beyond its years due to the climate.
Then Dumangin steps in.
The whisky is finished in Ratafia Champenois casks, adding a layer of fruit, softness and a distinctly European influence that reshapes the profile.
On the nose, itโs expressive and slightly wild. Sweet corn, caramel and vanilla lead into citrus, spice and a touch of floral lift.
The palate is where it really separates.
๐ Sweet corn richness
๐ Creamy texture
๐ Spice and wine influence
Burnt marshmallow, caramel and roasted corn roll through with cinnamon, marmalade and pepper, backed by a rounded sweetness from the Ratafia finish.
The finish is long and layered. Oak, spice and sweet corn linger with a dry edge and a touch of fruit that keeps it balanced.
This is the key.
๐ Blue corn character (richer, fuller)
๐ Texas maturation (intensity)
๐ Champagne cask finish (roundness + uniqueness)
This isnโt bourbon.
Itโs something else entirely.
