Finished in hand-coopered sherry octaves
Octaves hold around 50 litres, a fraction of a standard cask. The spirit meets far more wood, so the sherry builds fast and runs deep.
The whisky
A sweet, smoky four year old from Islay's south shore, finished by Darkness in little oloroso octaves.
The result drinks well beyond its years: oily nuts, peach, raisin and clove wrapped in bonfire smoke. Proof that a young whisky can carry serious depth.
