Darkness
Finished in hand-coopered sherry octaves
Octaves hold around 50 litres, a fraction of a standard cask. The spirit meets far more wood, so the sherry builds fast and runs deep.
The whisky
Inchfad is the name Loch Lomond gives to its heavily peated single malt, a smoky, sooty spirit made at the distillery on the southern edge of the Highlands.
Darkness has finished this six year old in its signature moscatel octaves, which pour ripe fruit and zesty citrus into the peat smoke. Bottled at a full 60%, it is powerful but never aggressive.
