Matured first in American oak ex-bourbon casks, Quintessence then rests five full years across five hand-selected Californian red wine casks — Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Master Distiller Richard Paterson built it to mark half a century in whisky, and it remains the only single malt in the world finished across five distinct red wine casks.
