Five wine-cask whiskies from The GlenDronach and Woodford Reserve, each poured beside the piggs peake wine that seasoned its cask and matched to a canapé, then a GlenDronach single cask to finish.
The night
Each whisky in the flight spent time in a wine cask: Madeira, Pinot Noir, port, Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez. So we asked piggs peake in the Hunter Valley to pour the wine that matches each one. You taste the whisky and the wine side by side, and the cask stops being a word on a label and becomes something you can taste.
Back at Brooksy, where we hosted our quality rum evening in August, with five canapés from the Amora kitchen built around each pairing.
