2023 pigmented lagrein

i first tried lagrein about 15 years ago. a chef poured it for me and excitedly told me i should be making this wine. when i asked him who was growing it in australia, his reply was basically no-one. sigh...

anyhow, we looked a the climate it enjoys in italy and decided that orange nsw was probably the best place to try growing it. the cold winter and sunny summers seemed to suit the variety.

we were right. it makes a deep, plush wine with terrific mouthfeel. this wine is quite simply just a great drink.
