Sazerac 18 Year Old
Distilled in the springs of 2006 and 2007 and left in Warehouses O, K and L for eighteen years and five months, by which point 77% of it had gone to the angels. What was left is bottled at a restrained 90 proof, because after that long in oak it does not need the help.
It pours second tonight, straight after Sazerac Rye at exactly the same strength. Same recipe, same proof, twelve more years in the barrel. It is the clearest lesson in what time does to a whiskey you will get in one glass.

Thomas H. Handy Sazerac
The same rye the night starts on, six years old and bottled uncut and unfiltered at 129.8 proof. The 2025 release, the same bottle tonight's pour comes from.
