This is one of those whiskies that flies under the radar… but probably shouldn’t.

Fettercairn leans into a lighter, tropical style that’s a bit different from your typical Highland malt. Matured fully in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, it’s all about clean fruit, soft sweetness and a really approachable structure.

On the nose, it opens fresh and lifted. Nectarine, pear and citrus sit front and centre, backed by vanilla and a gentle spice that gives it just enough depth without weighing it down.

The palate carries that same bright energy. Tropical fruit rolls through, pineapple, peach and soft orchard fruit, layered with honey and vanilla. There’s a light spice underneath, clove and ginger, keeping it balanced and stopping it from drifting too sweet.

The finish is clean and easy. A touch of toffee, soft oak and lingering fruit, with a gentle dryness that makes it seriously drinkable.

This isn’t a heavy hitter. It’s not trying to be.

It’s a clean, fruit-driven Highland malt that does exactly what it says on the tin, approachable, balanced, and easy to come back to.

A perfect everyday single malt. Easy going, but still with enough character to keep things interesting.
