The Islay
Single cask Islay malts, each drawn from the island's stone
Three chapters, three ages, three stones: basalt at sixteen years, red sandstone at twenty and quartzite at thirty. Each bottle comes in its own case.
The whisky
The oldest chapter of The Islay, inspired by quartzite, one of the hardest and most enduring stones on the island. Thirty years is a rare age for Islay malt, and it shows.
Three decades in a single cask have turned the smoke into something soft and deeply mature. Tar and cherries, a sweet and mouth-filling texture, then a finish of old warehouse, treacle and plums. Bottled at 46.3% to keep the delicacy of very old spirit, and presented in its own case.
