The whisky
Solist Vinho Barrique is matured in wine barriques given Kavalan's STR treatment, which strips out harsh wine tannin and acid and draws fruit, vanilla, caramel and chocolate from the oak. Bottled one cask at a time, uncut, at between 50 and 59.9%.
World's Best Single Malt Whisky at the World Whiskies Awards 2015, and Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2024.

About Kavalan
Founded in 2005 in Yilan County, Kavalan was Taiwan's first whisky distillery. Water comes off the 3,886m Snow Mountain, and a climate that swings from 7°C winters to 35°C summers drives fast, intense maturation. The distillery was named Distiller of the Year at the World Whiskies Awards 2026.
