Each draw blends older and younger spirit through the tiers, so every bottling stays consistent while the solera keeps gaining depth.
The whiskey
Solera Rye is the gateway to Australian rye. Double distilled from 100% Australian-grown unmalted rye, it matures through five tiers of new American oak, second-fill American oak and Australian red wine barrels. The result balances the grain's bright spice with a rich, rounded sweetness.
The red wine barrels bring stewed plum and dark fruit that set it well apart from any American rye.
The grain
The rye comes from a single farm in the Murray Mallee, on the border of Victoria and South Australia, where a dry, harsh climate yields small, dense, intensely flavoured grain.

About The Gospel
Australia's only dedicated rye whiskey distillery, founded in Melbourne by Ben Bowles and Andrew Fitzgerald, with production led by Master Distiller Ian Thorn. Named in the IWSC Top 50 Spirit Producers for 2025, the only Australian whiskey distillery on the list.
