The Islay
Single cask Islay malts, each drawn from the island's stone
Three chapters, three ages, three stones: basalt at sixteen years, red sandstone at twenty and quartzite at thirty. Each bottle comes in its own case.
The whisky
The second chapter of The Islay takes its cue from the island's red sandstone, laid down over unimaginable stretches of time.
Balanced maturation gives it depth, warmth and an understated complexity. The smoke has softened into something ashen and elegant, sitting over creamy vanilla wafers and ripe tropical fruit. An older, more refined take on Islay peat, presented in its own case.
Tasting notes
