A coastal Speysider finished in tiny Pedro Ximénez octaves: plums, buttery buns and honeycomb.

Independent bottlings, and the labels to match
Boutique-y bottles distilleries famous and overlooked at the classic 80 UK proof, each dressed in an illustrated label full of nods to the distillery and the whisky inside.
The whisky
Inchgower sits on the coast at Buckie, and most of what it makes disappears into famous blends, which makes a single malt bottling a genuine treat. The name is said to mean island of the goats in Scots Gaelic, hence the goat on the label.
This twelve year old began in a refill hogshead before a finish in small Pedro Ximénez sherry octaves, whose high wood contact adds dark fruit and sweetness quickly.
