Produced at Buffalo Trace Distillery using the famous wheated bourbon mash bill shared with the Weller lineup, Pappy 15 balances mature oak with remarkable energy. At 107 proof, it also happens to share the exact same ABV as Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year Old — a proof point that seems deliberately chosen to hold structure and intensity without letting oak completely dominate the whiskey.

And after 15 years in barrel, that matters.

The nose opens with waves of caramel corn, vanilla, maple sweetness and dark fruit before deeper layers of leather, tobacco and toasted oak begin to emerge. On the palate, the whiskey feels rich, oily and full-bodied, carrying caramel, toffee, baking spice and cherry richness across the tongue with the kind of texture that’s made Van Winkle legendary.
