The night
One distillery, five ways to taste it
Bruichladdich sits on the shore of Loch Indaal, the Islay distillery that was shut, saved and brought back to life twenty-five years ago. Every pour in the pack comes from there, and between them they cover almost everything it does.
You start on the house style, move through barley and red wine cask, try a single cask we chose ourselves, and finish on the peat of Port Charlotte. Ray hosts with a guest from Bruichladdich, and Yellow Submarine III gets its Australian launch on the night.

Set up in five minutes
One
Line them up
Stand the five samples in the running order below. Keep them at room temperature, not in the fridge.
Two
Any good glass
A tumbler or a small wine glass is fine. One glass will do if you rinse between pours.
Three
Water on the side
A jug of still water and a teaspoon. You will want a few drops for pour four, which is over 60%.
Four
Leave the caps
Open each one as we get to it. Fifteen millilitres goes quickly, so do not rush the first.
The line-up
Five pours, in this order
From the house style through barley, wine cask and a single cask of our own, finishing on peat. Smoke goes last because nothing tastes the same after it.

Pour one · The house style
The Classic Laddie 10 Year Old
The flagship in its aqua bottle, now with ten years on it. Unpeated, all Scottish barley, matured in American oak. This is the baseline everything else tonight is measured against.
- Orange blossom, vanilla and honey with a breath of sea air
- Orchard fruit and nectarine over spiced fudge
- Clean, malty and gently oaked
- Age 10 years
- Cask American oak
- Strength 50%, unpeated
Pour two · The barley
Greener Still
The fourth in the Still Series, and the first where the story is the field rather than the cask. Organic, biodynamic and Bere barley, fifteen years in first-fill bourbon barrels on Islay, nothing finished on top of it.
- Lavender, honeysuckle and toasted oak
- Ripe pear, apple crumble and cinnamon sugar
- Malty and herbal, with heather and a little rosemary
- Age 15 years
- Cask First-fill bourbon
- Strength 51.6%, unpeated
Pour three · The reason we are all here
Yellow Submarine III [Reclassified]
In 2005 two Islay fishermen pulled a Royal Navy submersible out of the water off the distillery, and Bruichladdich have been bottling the joke ever since. The third Yellow Submarine marks twenty-five years since the distillery was brought back to life, and tonight is its Australian launch.
Fourteen years old, mostly in French red wine casks with the rest in first-fill bourbon, at full strength.
- Crème brûlée, toasted hazelnut and nutmeg
- Orange zest, orchard fruit and honey
- A long finish with a pinch of sea salt
- Series Whisky of Mass Distinction IV
- Age 14 years
- Cask French red wine and first-fill bourbon
- Strength 54.2%, unpeated
Pour four · Our single cask
Micro-Provenance #0062
One cask, chosen by us. Ten years in a single first-fill Rivesaltes cask, the sweet fortified wine from the south of France, and bottled straight from it. The strongest pour of the night, so taste it neat first and then add a few drops of water.
- Age 10 years
- Cask First-fill Rivesaltes, single cask
- Strength 62.9%, cask strength
Pour five · The peat
Port Charlotte 18 Year Old
The same distillery, heavily peated, and the oldest Port Charlotte there is. Eighteen years takes the edge off the smoke without losing it, across bourbon, sherry, wine and virgin oak casks.
- Vanilla and cream wrapped in soft smoke
- Pepper and ripe orchard fruit, full and rich
- Long, fruity and smoky to the end
- Edition 2026 release
- Peat 40 PPM
- Strength 52.3%

Details
Good to know
Do I need a pack to watch?
No. Anyone can watch on Facebook or YouTube. The pack is what lets you taste along rather than take our word for it.
What if I cannot make it on the night?
The stream stays up on all three pages afterwards, so pour whenever suits and watch it back. You will miss having your questions answered live, which is the best part of it.
Can I buy the full bottles?
Four of the five, yes. Use the "view the bottle" links in the line-up above. If you are a member, log in first so any member pricing applies.
What is the add-on?
Every pack ships with one piece from the launch, chosen when you order: a Yellow Submarine or Greener Still glass, a coaster, a napkin, socks, a pin, the patch or the calico gift bag. It is included in the price and comes in the same box as your samples.
My pack has not arrived, or something is missing
Email socials@oakandorigin.com.au with your order number and we will sort it. If it has not turned up two days before the tasting, let us know and we will chase it.
Is there an age requirement?
You must be 18 or over to order a pack, and someone 18 or over must sign for the delivery.
Need a hand?
Questions about the night, your pack or your delivery. Reach us on socials or send an email.
Members get first call on allocated releases before anyone else hears about them, and $10 off every virtual tasting pack.
