Straight Rye is where The Gospel started, and the release that defined the category in this country. Everything that followed, Bonded Rye included, builds on it.
The whiskey
Double distilled in Brunswick from 100% Australian-grown unmalted rye and matured for at least two years in heavily toasted, single-forest new American oak. Melbourne's swinging climate pushes the spirit deep into the wood, building a bold, spicy rye with real depth and a clean, dry structure.
The grain
Every bottle starts on a single farm in the Murray Mallee, on the border of Victoria and South Australia. The harsh, dry climate there yields small, dense, intensely flavoured rye, and you can taste it in the glass.

About The Gospel
Australia's only dedicated rye whiskey distillery, founded in Melbourne by Ben Bowles and Andrew Fitzgerald, with production led by Master Distiller Ian Thorn. Named in the IWSC Top 50 Spirit Producers for 2025, the only Australian whiskey distillery on the list.
