This is rye — stripped back and rebuilt.
Batch 026 starts with a 100% rye whisky from Zuidam Distillery in the Netherlands — no corn, no malt, just pure rye grain.
It’s initially aged in bourbon casks before being finished for 21 months in Ratafia Champenois barrels, bringing a completely different layer of texture and flavour.
Total ageing sits around 6 years, but the finishing is what defines it.
And it’s seriously limited.
👉 Only ~334 bottles produced
👉 Non-chill filtered
👉 Individually selected by Dumangin
On the nose, it’s sharp but lifted. Spice, oak and herbal notes sit alongside red fruit and a subtle wine sweetness.
The palate is where it separates itself.
👉 Pure rye spice
👉 Dry, structured profile
👉 Rounded by wine cask influence
Pepper, clove and oak drive the front, with cherry, raisin and a slightly floral edge softening the delivery. There’s a noticeable dryness, but the Ratafia finish adds a layer of smoothness that pulls it back into balance.
The finish is long and firm. Spice, oak and a light fruit sweetness linger with a drying edge that keeps it tight and structured.
This is the key.
👉 100% rye intensity
👉 Wine cask softening
👉 Balance of sharp + rounded
This isn’t bourbon-adjacent.
It’s rye — reworked.
