Heaven Hill Drops Its Oldest Ever Heritage Collection Bourbon at 22 Years

Mar 04, 2026

Heaven Hill has announced the 5th edition of its Heritage Collection, and this one is a landmark: a 22-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, the oldest release in the series to date.

The collection launched in 2022, and each year features one of Heaven Hill's six traditional American whiskey mash bills. This edition uses the distillery's classic bourbon recipe (78% corn, 10% rye, 12% malted barley) and is bottled at barrel proof — 129.2 proof (64.6% ABV), non-chill filtered.

The whiskey is a small batch of just 270 barrels, all distilled in early-to-mid 2003 and aged on the upper floors of Rickhouse Y in Bardstown, Kentucky. Over two decades of Kentucky heat and seasonal cycling have done their work. Heaven Hill's tasting notes describe deep oak character balanced by dark caramel, toasted vanilla, warm cinnamon, leather, and a long finish of charred oak, toffee and peppery spice.

The US retail price is set at US$319.99, with limited international distribution starting in early March 2026.

For Australian bourbon collectors, this is one to watch. Heaven Hill's Heritage releases are produced in genuinely small quantities and rarely make it to our shores through standard retail channels. If it does land here, expect pricing well above the US RRP. At 22 years old and barrel proof, this sits alongside some of the most age-stated American whiskey available anywhere in the world right now.

Heaven Hill remains one of the few family-owned distilleries in Kentucky, with more than 2 million barrels ageing across 70 warehouses. That kind of inventory depth is what makes releases like this possible.
