This is where Fettercairn starts to stretch its legs.
Built on that same tropical, fruit-forward house style, but with added depth from extended ageing and sherry cask influence, this is a clear step up from the 12. More weight, more texture, more going on in the glass.
On the nose, it opens warm and layered. Grilled pineapple, mango and peach sit alongside dried fruits and sugared almonds, with vanilla and soft spice giving it a rounded edge.
The palate brings both sides together. Tropical fruit and honey roll through first, followed by darker notes, raisins, cocoa and a touch of red fruit, all wrapped in gentle oak spice. There’s a creamy, slightly oily texture here that gives it real presence without feeling heavy.
The finish is long and warming. Ginger, oak spice and dried fruit linger, with a soft dryness that keeps everything balanced and pulls you back for another sip.
This isn’t a sherry bomb, and it’s not trying to be. It’s a layered Highland malt that balances bright fruit with deeper cask influence, giving you both freshness and maturity in the same glass.
A proper step-up whisky. More depth, more structure, but still incredibly drinkable.
