Ray Daniel – Hospitality, Community & Brand Builder
With 25 years in hospitality, Ray has shaped venues from cozy 100-person bars to 2,000-guest events. A key figure in Sydney’s whisky scene, he founded one of the Inner West’s most loved whisky bars, cultivating a passionate community along the way.
Ray has hosted and curated over 250 whisky events - from intimate tastings to major launches, always blending education and storytelling with his own, laid-back style. As founder of Barrel & Batch, he grew a local whisky project into one of Australia’s leading platforms, expanding it into a national online and retail brand.
Now, as co-founder of Oak & Origin, Ray draws on his deep expertise in cask selection, rare releases, community, and business growth to lead with genuine passion and proven success.
John Jarvis – Product & Marketing Expertise
John has spent years at the helm of distillery operations, producing whisky at the highest levels. As a driving force behind the growth of Hobart Whisky, John hasn’t just shaped a brand, he’s meticulously overseen every drop. His expertise extends beyond whisky production, as he’s helped local distilleries refine their operations, branding, and product strategies.
With a rare blend of technical skill and a talent for storytelling, John is an invaluable part of Oak & Origin’s leadership.
