Jim Beam has announced the first Booker’s release of 2026, and it’s a monster. Batch 2026-01 ‘The Big Easy’ clocks in at a hefty 125.4 proof, paying tribute to New Orleans and the bourbon culture that thrives there.
This isn't your everyday Booker's pour. Aged between 6 years 9 months and 7 years 5 months, this batch was hand-selected from premium rack locations across four Kentucky rickhouses. The liquid spent its life on the upper floors where the heat does its magic, pushing deep into the wood for maximum flavour extraction.
What's In The Bottle
Expect bold, unapologetic bourbon character. We're talking caramel, vanilla, and oak with a serious kick that doesn't apologise for the proof. The New Orleans inspiration shows up in the spice notes, think of the city's bold flavours translated into barrel-aged form.
Master Distiller Freddie Noe selected this batch specifically to honour the Big Easy's love affair with bourbon. It's fitting, really. New Orleans has always understood that great bourbon needs to be full-flavoured and uncut, just like this release.
Why You Need This
Booker's batches don't stick around. Each release is a one-time deal, bottled straight from the barrel without chill filtration. No second chances. No do-overs. Once it's gone, it's gone for good.
‘The Big Easy’ lands as the first Booker’s release of 2026, hitting 125.4 proof and already rolling out across the US.
True to form, it’s a single batch release with no reruns once it’s gone.
When this reaches Australian shelves, it’ll be worth paying attention.
